Now we are making jokes about someone who died a terrible death. This someone is somebody's son, brother, cousin, and if married, husband and possibly a father! Shame on all those who made a joke out of this. I give my thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of this man who was just trying to make a honest living. Posted by: Diane at July 10, 2009 9:58 AM My condolences to the family. The authorities should investigate how it could have happenned. Was it negligence on the company's part? Inadequate safety issues? If so, the company should be held accountable and liable. Posted by: at July 10, 2009 10:04 AM seriously what the hell is the matter with people making rediculous comments like that????? all i have to say is IF YOU DON'T HAVE A KIND WORD TO SAY THAT JUST SHUT UP...... God bless his soul and his family Posted by: Tammy at July 10, 2009 10:19 AM Its people like you that go on to commit unspeakable crimes in this world. You must hate yourselves immensely to make unimaginable comments like this about the deceased. Posted by: at July 10, 2009 10:21 AM Unfortunately we have silly people in this world who think everything is a joke or funny. This is definitely a lack of maturity and common sense. My heart & prayers goes out to the family of this young man. Posted by: BJ at July 10, 2009 10:23 AM The funniest part about this is that most of the people who comment here are uneducated. Read all these posts and see how many people on here have no clue how to spell anything. Compassion- not compation. Seriously people? Come on. Posted by: T-money at July 10, 2009 10:24 AM Let's face it - once a person reaches the age of a young adult, they will not change. If they were not raised and taught Love and Respect, they will never experience either. So, the losers that post jokes about this tragedy are exactly that---insensitive Losers. The more people comment on their pathetic posts, the more the Losers feed into it as they demand attention. I know it's sick, but they seek attention. Thank God the Losers are among the minority on this planet. Posted by: Pete at July 10, 2009 10:26 AM Chocolate covered black man anyone??
Posted by: Funnyman at July 10, 2009 10:27 AM none the less.. its a bit of a lol Posted by: at July 10, 2009 10:29 AM AMEN PETE! Posted by: Sue at July 10, 2009 10:34 AM You idiots need to learn how to take a joke. As sad as it may be that somebody died, he died in a vat of chocolate! That's like a clown dying at the circus. It's sad, but it's funny and you cant help but chuckle a little. Get a sense of humor and, for the sake of humanity, please don't reproduce. The world can't take many more politically correct people like you. Posted by: Big Ron at July 10, 2009 10:42 AM I don't usually make comments, but after reading some of these I felt I needed to. First let me give my condolences to the family. Second let me say that the passing of a loved one is supposed to be a celebration, a time of joy because that person is going HOME to be with our LORD, not a time of sorrow. Third and for most, some people can't deal with grief so they make little comments such as the ones posted here. It is not our place to judge any one, that is for our LORD. And lastly, he may come from a fun, loving family that likes to make jokes and kid around no matter what the occasion. A little light-hearted humor never hurt anyone. As a matter of fact it usually lightens up an otherwise awkward position and since I'm a chocoholic I think death by chocolate is the way to go! Posted by: at July 10, 2009 10:44 AM
Posted by: DW at July 10, 2009 10:53 AM Is it possible some of you could learn to spell? Your comments carry mcuh less weight when grammar is thrown out the window! Posted by: at July 10, 2009 10:55 AM I am shuddering right now of the thought of the young man dying so horribly. Where is OSHA here. the place should be shut down and investigated. This seemed like an accident waiting to happen. Some of the posts made me sick. No empathy. You are no better than Sadaam H. who threw people in wood chippers and his people laughed. Funny ha ha. If this was my family member and these comments were made, it would make the tragic event even more unbearable. Rest in peace young man and my condolences to the family. Posted by: daniel at July 10, 2009 11:20 AM the human race makes me sad Posted by: at July 10, 2009 11:21 AM Sometimes you feel like a nut , sometimes you don't Posted by: Dan at July 10, 2009 11:26 AM My deepest condolences to the family of the deceased. The investigation will reveal if enough safety features had been put in place. Falling from an elevated platform is the most common accident at any workplace, especially if there are human activities being carried out on it. Your country OSHA will determine if the company had done everything they reasonably could to prevent such accidents from happening. If the OSHA finds that the company was negligent in providing enough safety measures, it can be held liable and accountable. While the investigation is being carried out, that particular machine must be shutdown until the results are known. The machine may be reopened, if and only if the company can and has proved to the OSHA that all the safety measures are already in place. No one will be out of work. If there are some workers who have to stay home because of this case, they must be fully paid. That's the way it is in my country. But, do correct me if I am wrong. Death, by any means is no laughing matter. Posted by: redzwan at July 10, 2009 11:32 AM I don't thhink this is the place or time to joke about it. But all you people that comment on the sick remarks are just showing them how much they pushed your buttons. The paddle inside the machine most likely caused his death, not the chocolate. But the media would not get many to read a story that was titled "Man dies in processing machine" As bad as the comments are, the story as a whole is bad since it focuses on the unusual circumstances, rather than the sad fact that the job could have been done safely. Workplace safety is part of my job and when I read these stories, it always makes me sick. Tragic - my condolences go out to his friends, family and co-workers. Posted by: frank at July 10, 2009 11:34 AM That is a horrible tragedy. My deepest sympathies go out to the family. As for the people making silly comments-GET A LIFE! Posted by: Kaboom at July 10, 2009 12:22 PM I'm not sure if Holly suffers from that or not. But I'm pretty sure you suffer from short term memory loss and dislexia. You told her you supposed to take a shower, yet your still online. And you obviously don't know how to spell laughing or moron! Posted by: Jack at July 10, 2009 12:22 PM I hope when I die everyone gets a good laugh. I want to be the talk of the town. Posted by: Hoo at July 10, 2009 12:22 PM Humor, like everything has a time and a place. I'm sure this family finds nothing funny about the loss of this man. I'm sure if those leaving what they think are funny comments, could pause for just a moment and put themselves in someone else's shoes, it would make sense to them. Now then, think of a close family member. If this happened to your brother, son, father, would you make those same comments? would you still think it was funny? This is what is wrong with the world today. We don't stop to see things from the other prospective and we hurt people who are already hurting. Yes, we should have fun and joke around but not at an accidental death. Remember, you reap what you sow. Posted by: Dianne at July 10, 2009 12:22 PM So people can't use this man's death for humor, but the self-righteous can use it to promote political and racist agendas? Ask yourself this: if humor in death is wrong as a form of taking pleasure at the expense of another, how is publicly berating those who do so any better? Bottom line is that somebody found it newsworthy and you clicked on it. Posted by: Scott at July 10, 2009 12:23 PM What if someone died by being bitten to death by ants? Now that would be a hoot! Posted by: Hoo at July 10, 2009 12:26 PM Jack are you trying to get a spelling bee going. Ok MORAN, You're on. First word. Oh, oh wait. This wont work Jacj. You'll copy my word. How can I trust you jacj11111111111111 Posted by: Kaboom at July 10, 2009 12:26 PM See, as I said before, I think you have dislexia. It's either that or you know that I'm right, which makes you actually type faster and hit the wrong key because your angry. So this actually makes it three words you can't spell. Posted by: Rev Joan at July 10, 2009 1:13 PM It is simply amazing how someone is judged by their reaction to a story concerning death by unusual circumstances. It is not healthy to equate every news story about death with stone-faced respect for the deceased and their family. Sometimes it is healthy to let off a little steam, and humor ... helps. While some here judge a person's joking remarks harshly, even equating them to a justification for eternal damnation in the afterlife, others have a more relaxed view of the perceived humor/irony surrounding "someone" falling into a vat of chocolate and dying. If it makes you all feel any better, I'm switching to Nestles because of it - and that is no joke. My hopes for those making puns of this death are sympathetic to the fact that a life was lost & that you are trying to make light of a horrific situation. I'm sure this young man's family will some day be able to poke fun at his manner of death after a long grieving period but until then, sensitivity should be of utmost importance when commenting on this unfortunate accident. God bless the family & friends of a hard working American! Posted by: RIP at July 10, 2009 3:50 PM What a terribly sad and horrific way to die. I'm so sorry for his family, friends and co-workers. Just tragic and completely avoidable if safety measures had been in place. :( As for all you umm, "people" that think it's very normal and acceptable to make jokes and laugh ...... No one is TELLING you not to do it, we are just amazed that you are that stupid and willing to prove it with your insensitive posts. As far as calling it "free speech" ....(hahahaha) You're absolutely right, it is! It means sensible people AND morons can say/post anything. The best part is, it just identifies which of the two groups you belong in. Posted by: at July 10, 2009 3:51 PM What a terribly sad and horrific way to die. Posted by: danica at July 10, 2009 5:07 PM To Mr. Smith's Family I am very sorry for your loss. I pray that you will be comforted. Thank GOD that this world is only temporary and not our permanent home. We must make light of death for our time here is too short. GOD is life amd the devil is death. I will celebrate the life GOD gave me and snub my nose at the devil... not giving place to him. Mark Twain once commented on a man who fell into a carpet machine and the deceased's family bought the whole 10 yards of him. Historically or hysterically Mr.Smith or Mr.Berber's untimely passing twas not funny then or now but none the less noteworthy. As for the aforementioned comments we must ask ourselves was the chocolate milk(for if it was, should we see the milk of human kindness in the pale of civilization) or was the chocolate dark and bitter, (for that would have been the bitter end). If I get to know when the end is I hope to arrange for my casket to arrive a half hour after my funeral is to start. One would not only see who would bother to stay but also it may be said that I was even late for my own funeral. As for me I'm going to celebrate life and go dance on my grave. Posted by: Pam at July 10, 2009 5:17 PM You people who are posting like 5 year old children and making fun of this man's death will have to answer to God for your behavior. The most important part of this story is whether or not this man was Saved by the blood of Christ. You people who laugh at anothers death need to realize that if you are not Saved that you will spend an eternity in a place where laughter is not one of your options. It will be too late to ask forgiveness when you are facing an eternity in Hell. Read John 3:16 and ponder what it says. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
