Bono and U2 starred today in the free, HBO video event of Obama's inaugural "We Are One" Concert, which featured speeches by President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden, and appearances by celebrities like Tom Hanks, Tiger Woods and Denzel Washington, offered some memorable musical moments. Among them:

Highlights in the video now online at Youtube included Veteran soul singer Bettye LaVette and Jon Bon Jovi warmly harmonizing on Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come," with Bon Jovi adding the lane, "change has come" at the end. Bruce Springsteen and folk legend Pete Seeger - still spry, at 89 - leading a spirited singalong on "This Land Is Your Land." and U2 sounding as driven as ever on its Martin Luther King Jr. tribute, "Pride (In the Name of Love)." U2 also gave a special shoutout to the Palestinian and Israeli people.

Not so successful as Bono and U2: Garth Brooks' hammy medley, mixing together portions of of Don McLean's "American Pie," The Isley Brothers' "Shout" and his own "We Shall Be Free."

How can you knock Garth Brooks' performance today? I was there and everyone in the crowd went wild for him. He got a group of millions of strangers dancing to 'Shout' together! It was beautiful!

I agree with Joe...I was there too. Garth had everyone on their feet even way back by the Washington monument where we were. All the artits did a gret job.

Yeah, Garth was great. I was there, and he got the biggest response out of any of the singers. There was a fantastic energy during his song, and it was by far the most talked about performance by everyone that night.

I think you're just the typical music snob, who thinks it would be "uncool" to say you enjoyed Garth Brooks.

Sean is right you are stuck up. You can't have many friends. I bet no one likes you at all. I feel sorry for you. Garth did great i think.
