At last it is here! The much anticipated season 5 of the Emmy-nominated reality TV show So You Think You Can Dance is in full swing every week on Wednesday night at 8:00 P.M. on the Fox Network. The Season 5 SYTYCD host is Cat Deeley (picture above). The judges are Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy. Join us as we watch all genres of dance from Salsa, Quickstep and Jive of classic ballroom dancing to the hottest street style dance, Hip-Hop, Krumping, Popping and much more. It’s sure to be exciting! All will amaze you, but only one will be a winner! The highly acclaimed So You Think You Can Dance is a summertime must-see! The show is created by Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe who gave us American Idol and many other top-notch favorites!
So what is So You Think You Can Dance and why should you watch SYTYCD online? Host Cat Deeley breaks it down for us. Here’s what she says about this great show!
“We like to celebrate people from all different races, religions, backgrounds, colors, creeds. That’s the whole idea of the show, is that anybody from any background at all with any training can come on the show, and as long as they’ve got the talent and passion and they’re prepared to work hard, and also show their personality, of course, they are more than welcome to be on the show. We’re looking for stars,”

The show’s producers have gone all across America in search of dancers who audition and reveal their dancing prowess. Judges will pick the best of these for a call-back where they will prep their next audition with the help of top choreographers.
The judges will pick the SYTYCD Top 20 dancers during call-back week and they will be the So You Think You Can Dance finalists.

Now it’s viewers’ choice as the Top 20 finalists will dance and vy for the most votes to stay in the competition. With a combination of judges scores and viewers’ votes the list gets whittled down to teh SYTYCD Top 10 finalists. Now it’s all in the hands of the viewers; the dancers need viewers’ votes and viewers’ votes alone to stay in competition. After every performance show viewers vote for their favorite dancers. During a live results show, dancers learn their fate; who stays and who gets sent home.

Joshua Allen was the SYTYCD season 4. After the season finale, the Top 10 dancers went on the SYTCD tour of cities across the U.S.
What awaits the season 5 SYTYCD winner? As host Cat Deeley explains, though there are no guarantees, possibilities are endless and exciting!
“And if it’s not on another TV show, it could be that somebody like Mariah Carey rings up, or Avril Lavigne, and goes, ‘OK, we’d like you to come on tour.’ If we can elevate them to that position, they can go on to have a wonderful career after this.”
