Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co.  said today (Thursday) that Jerry Jurgensenas just  stepped down as the chief executive under mutual agreement with the insurance and financial services departments. He will be succeeded by President and Chief Operating Officer Steve Rasmussen. 
 
Jurgensen had served as Nationwide’s CEO since 2000.
