Dramatic Dust Storm In Arizona (VIDEO)

When I watch this video, all I can think of is, who are those people driving INTO that dust storm and why are they ok with it?

from cbs4.com:
Incredible Video: Dramatic Dust Storm In Arizona

PHOENIX, AZ Thunderstorms in southern Arizona whipped up quite a sight in the Arizona desert Tuesday afternoon.

A massive wall of sand was kicked up by a storm, rolling across the desert from the Casa Grande area, moving it north toward Phoenix at about 25 to 30 miles an hour.

The sand blanketed Interstate 10 between Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona dropping visibility for drivers down to zero, right in the middle of the evening rush.

The official name of this type of a storm is a "Haboob" which is an Arabic word that is used to describe these storms in the Sahara Desert.

The sand storm is usually fast moving and can go as high as three thousand feet into the air.

This is getting out of hand. jsmooth - watch out man...

Apparently, the state of Washington doesn't feel that classifying online gamblers as felons is draconian enough, as it's now looking to crack down on internet speech as well. The first victim of the new law is not charged with gambling itself, but of maintaining a website that discussed, reviewed and linked to online gambling sites.

Twinkies Cookbook

from yahoo.com

Twinkie Burritos? Twinkie Lasagna?

CHICAGO - Twinkies, they're not just for dessert anymore. The new "Twinkies Cookbook" has recipes for everything from a Twinkie Burrito to Twinkie Lasagna.

Theresa Cogswell compiled about 50 recipes for the book.

Many were submitted to Hostess, as part of Twinkies' 75th anniversary celebration last year.

Cogswell tells Illinois' Daily Southtown newspaper that one of her favorites is a berry-laden Patriotic Twinkie Pie.

It's red, white and blue.

Cogswell says it makes a great centerpiece for a Fourth of July picnic, which you can also eat for dessert.

Harry Potter...*gulp*...might die??

Rowling: Two 'Potter' characters will die

LONDON - Author J.K. Rowling said two characters will die in the last installment of her boy wizard series, and she hinted
Harry Potter might not survive either.

"I have never been tempted to kill him off before the final because I've always planned seven books, and I want to finish on seven books," Rowling said Monday on TV here.

"I can completely understand, however, the mentality of an author who thinks, `Well, I'm gonna kill them off because that means there can be no non-author-written sequels. So it will end with me, and after I'm dead and gone they won't be able to bring back the character'."

Rowling declined to commit herself about Harry, saying she doesn't want to receive hate mail.

"The last book is not finished. But I'm well into it now. I wrote the final chapter in something like 1990, so I've known exactly how the series is going to end," she said.

A Lego Crossbow

A semi-automatic pump-action lego crossbow that took four blocks in the handle and one in the chamber. It can fire a standard lego brick about 20 yards. It's not terribly accurate, but believe me, you don't want to fire this thing at the family pet.
