Maksim Chmerkovskiy: Bachelor (Sort Of)

TV viewers will know Maksim Chmerkovskiy as one of the sexy dancers from Dancing With The Stars, a former partner of Brandy Norwood and "Scary Spice" Mel B, among others. But now Maksim will be starting a reality show of his very own, when he becomes the leading man in a new season of The Bachelor. There's one catch though: it will be a local version of The Bachelor in his home country, the Ukraine.

Chmerkovskiy said on his website he was actually offered the American version of The Bachelor and turned it down, because "There has never been a show such as this in Ukraine and it makes me think that a first season would be the most 'real' as far as participant's perception of 'what its all about' is concerned. I know it's hard to find someone you can connect to on a project like this, but nothing is impossible. For the sake of the show I can't reveal anything, but I must say I am very pleasantly surprised so far."

So he's hoping he has a better chance of finding a real relationship through this TV show. Umm okay, good luck!

On his website, Chmerkovskiy wrote that he turned down ABC's American 'Bachelor' (which, if true, means Brad Womack was their third choice, since 'Bachelorette' runner-up Chris Lambton also declined).
