Black Friday 2010 doesn't officially start until Mid-November, but U.S. retailers, including Sears, have already begun announcing upcoming weekend sales. Traditionally, Black Friday is the start of the Christmas shopping season as a very large number of retailers offer big discounts on a variety of products. Retailers such as Best Buy, Macy's, Toys "R" Us, Walmart, K-Mart and Target open very early at 5AM or even earlier. Upon opening, they offer doorbuster deals and loss leaders to bring people to their stores.
