Nun's Convent Pot Plantation!

A convent in Africa has been finding a new way to get closer to the Lord, according to police there who reportedly busted the nuns for growing their own pot plantation!

The massive crop of marijuana was discovered in the convent's garden, a full acre of cannabis. The nuns are apparently claiming that the marijuana was for medicinal purposes, not even for themselves but for the farm animals they take care of.

Medicinal marijuana is widely believed to be a health benefit and aid to people who suffer from many illnesses and conditions, including chronic pain, insomnia, glaucoma, the side effects of cancer treatment, anxiety and depression. But it's unclear what it might do for other species.

According to the American company Medical Marijuana Inc., "As medical marijuana laws continue to evolve, our national agent sales force will be equipped to reveal for qualified physicians, the diverse and unique cannabis medicines we have developed so they can prescribe the very best solutions for their patients' needs."

Police in Uganda said they are investigating the origins and purpose of a huge marijuana crop found in the garden of a convent. Masaka district police officials said investigators discovered a marijuana plantation covering an entire acre of land in the gardens of the convent, which was not specifically identified by police, the BBC reported Thursday. Southern regional commander Emmanuel Muhuirwe said two porters were arrested and released on bail pending charges while two nuns were questioned but not arrested.
