Gwyneth Paltrow Rap Video

Gwyneth Paltrow is the latest celebrity to try their hand at ironic rapping, with this segment on the Jimmy Fallon show. I guess every star has to do it at least once?

The clip aired during Jimmy Fallon's interview with Gwyneth this week, where they pretended they used to be in a rap group named Shazzazz, and showed clips of their hit songs from back in the day. The music was actually pretty good, as The Roots did a version of the main theme from Wild Style, but their rapping was only mildly comedic IMHO. All in good fun though, I know they are both hip-hop fans and meant well.

Ironically Gwyneth was pretty derisive last year about Joaquin Phoenix's rapping, saying "maybe he shold go live in the projects for a few years and get some credibility." Lots of rappers don't come from the projects, just for the record.

Gwyneth Paltrow may have lashed out at Joaquin Phoenix for pretending to be "street" a couple of years ago, but that hasn't stopped her from getting her rap on. The actress showed off her mad skillz on NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" Saturday in a mock rap music video. During Paltrow's interview, the duo joked that they were part of a rap group in the 1980s called Shazzazz and happened to have some footage on hand. In the video, Paltrow and Fallon sing their fictional hit song "Do It" against a background of graffiti while decked out like Run-DMC in their heyday.
