7.0 Earthquake in Japan (NEWS)

A major earthquake rocked Japan today, hitting the southern coast and affecting Okinawa and other islands.

The worst impact was out at sea, apparently, and no major damage or loss of life has been reported yet, thankfully.

Japan is one of the most earthquake-prine countries, and was hit by a major disaster when an earthquake struck Kobe in the nineties.

According to one Okinawa resident, this quake came as quite a scare, though it didn't do major property damage to most homeowners: "I was fast asleep when the quake hit, and I jumped out of bed. It felt like the shaking lasted forever."

It happened on early Saturday morning Japanese time, and it will take a while to hear the full scoop on how much damage there was, hopefully the news later on will be goood.
