NASA Photos: 'Trees' On Mars?

Among other things, the internet has been going crazy this week over alleged photos of trees on Mars, found in recent NASA photo releases. But experts say the "trees" aren't really trees at all, not surprisingly.

To be fair to the tree true-believers, the photos in the link below really do look an awful lot like trees, form far away. But NASA has confirmed that the images are really depicting salt and sand debris that took a shape and casts shadows that makes them resemble trees when photographed from far away overhead.

daily news

A NASA probe has returned photographs of what appear to be trees on the surface of Mars. The incredible images seem to show pockets of spruces springing up from dunes and hills on the rust-colored planet's surface, but unfortunately, the pix are really just an optical illusion. The "trees" are actually trails of dark basaltic sand debris and erupting dust clouds caused by landslides as dry ice.
