Santa: Health Crisis?

Santa Claus is beloved as a hero for kids in America, but some say he is more naughty than nice when it comes to his health and fitness.

Critics including a previous Surgeon General have pointed out that Santa Claus sets a bad example with his obesity, and should work on improving his diet and exercise so he would encourage kids to be healthy. And experts in Australia made similar comments, though some are interpreting it to be tongue-in-cheek, as seen in the link below.

What do you think, Should Santa slim down and hit the elliptical machines, so he can teach kids about good health? Or is he just fine the way he is, with his fat jolly self?

It was a joke, folks. Have people entirely lost their sense of humor? Everywhere on Thursday and Friday (see, for example, the AP or Bloomberg) there were stories breathlessly reporting that public health expert Nathan Grills of Monash University in Australia was arguing that Santa was too fat and a poor image of health for kids. Moreover, the stories said, Grills wanted to supplant him with a slimmed down version.

As I seem to remember way back when Old Saint Nick, was rather on the thin side. However as America and the world has Changed so has Santa.
Let the children enjoy the Jolly Man in Red once a year. He is going to make tiny kids run to Mc Ducks etc to fatten up to look like Santa. We have far too many Important things to worry about for our Children, like being able to put food on the table for them and give them decent education. And most of all a World that is Safe of Harm against them in their Future. KittyKats2
