Everyone's talking about Scientology's latest troubles, and wondering if some of their celebrity acolytes will soon be leaving the religion. But which famous Scientologist might be the one to go? An Irish bookmaker regarded as a top prognosticator is laying odds on top stars including John Travolta choosing to leave the controversial faith.

Paddy Power puts the odds quite high on Travolta leaving, after well-publicized controversy around the tragic death of his son, and also sees Katie Holmes and Lisa Marie Presley as among the more likely escapees from Scientology island. For more see the article here:

Instead of putting faith on a man made organization which is not considered religion.
The power will betaken away.

Man should base their faith on the One and only
God ( and I don't mean the Devil)

JESUS CHRIST RULES

Jesus Christ is Lord and King whether you believe it or not. One day you will bow before Him.

If Travolta left Scientology, oh what a sweet day that would be indeed. Escaping a cult full of abuse and deceit, he would be turning his back on their greed. Rest in peace, Jett my friend, with our Heavenly Father above. God help you, John Travolta, and may your eyes open to the real world of love.

Comments such as the ones posted here against another religion are one of the causes of war & hatred against each other. Religion, for the most part, is bad because its followers only believe what they want to believe and not necessarily the "truth". Religion causes war. Is there such thing as an agnostic (or atheist) bomber?

People have the right to practice or not to practice any religion, but if they do, they should keep it to themselves and respect other people's beliefs.

I am not a Scientologist, nor am I a Christian, I follow a faith older than both. Yet I am appauled by the way these comments above simply bash one religion and state that another is the only true way. They disregaurd the teachings of their own faith in attempt to taunt and bully another.

There is no proof to support entirely that one faith is more true or correct than the other. The subject of faith is a personal journey that everyone should take when they are ready. Scientology is a nondemoninational religion that supports the beliefs of all religions. They strive to provide extra tools to improve the lives of others. They do not preach conversion or fire, brimstone, sin and damnation like the Christian church does. Scientology simply wants to help others.

Look at the history of the Christian church, they slautered millions in the name of a man called Jesus to get others to convert to their thinking; inquisition, crusades. They still use guilt techniques to recruit with the belief of man falling short of the glory of God through sin. There are countless demoninations of Christianity because followers still can't come to an agreement on all the fundamentals of the religion. That is why there are so many different Christian churches, translations of the scriptures, more books in the Catholic bible, different books altogether in the gnostic because those that first voted on what is scripture didn't like those books.

Scientology tells you first that man is good and is striving to survive. It seems that all here missed the scripture that said to not judge others, to do unto others as you would have done unto you. Jesus was a man that had a peaceful message to share with the world, whose memory has caused way to much death and destuction because followers of his memory missed the true meaning of his message. We are all children of the Creator of life, we should all be striving to survive with each other in peace, tolerate our differences and seek harmony.

Also look at what Scientology has improve the world through Human Rights, Drug prevention, education, crimianl rehabilitation, drug rehabilitation and outing of psychiatric malpractice.

Also, one needs to take note of the myths of Christianity and compare them to all the non Christian faiths. They will be able to find commonalities throughout the world on stories of death and resurection, on the ideals of the ten commandments, on the virgin birth and so on. All the now celebrated holidays in the Christian church are taken from older cultures that the Christian church invaded and forced into submission.

Again I am not a Scientologist, nor am I a Christian, I follow a religion older than both. But the message of Christianity was not portayed in the comments above.

Hold it, Tyler, what have you been hearing/reading about the Church of Scientology? Anything that the Church does is to lure people into buying their courses and to become, in their words, clear of the left overs of a galactic race that was blown to bits on earth, although that little piece of doctrine is kept out of the eye of the public That's why the lunkhead left the Nightline program when these insider beliefs were mentioned. The CofS is hidng about as much as the LDS church does about the Mountain Meadow Massacre.

As for the Christians, yeah sometimes we do get a bit loud about Jesus; but, the Christians do good works and often will do it for free and without cost--if you are broke. My Church is currently helping me and a lot of people who are out of work and they do it for the love of Christ--let see Ron L. Hubbard do that. By the way, his Mission Earth series has to stand as the worst, most pornographic work in the history of science fiction--and that's saying something.

Middleman,
I'll give it to you that anything that is pro-scientology is an attempt to get you to take a course or buy a book or to support their organization, but is it not the same for the christian church or any other religion out there. The scientologists do good works for free just like the christian church as well as druids, wiccans, budhists, muslims, jews and so on. Each religion needs its numbers or it will die out. Whats the difference in believeing that ailens from some intergalactic force visited earth some trillion years ago or believing that one man two thousand years ago died as a one time human sacrifice for all others. It all takes a choice of faith, when christianity was brand new it sounded as crazy as scientology can today. Since crusades and inquistions won't fly in todays age it is up to each person to choose what myth they want to believe and support. Which is the point, that each person needs to research and choose what they want to believe in, then respect the beliefs of others. The basis of all religions is to be a good person, to help and respect each other and to do our best to make this world a better place.

I agree with you 100% Tyler! Some people really give a bad rap on religion. It's a shame, and this is one of the reasons the whole is in bad shape. If we all just respect each other's beliefs and stop proselytizing then probably 9/11 would never have happened.
