Those who are in the know will tell you Gucci Mane's real name Is Radric Davis. Radric was born in Alabama but spent most of his life in Atlanta, and is now one of the city's foremost ambassadors in the hip-hop world. his debut album Trap House (a reference to his former place of business as a drug dealer) dropped in 2005, and since then he has risen to the top of the charts, recently featured as one of MTV's top ten hottest emcees.

Radric Davis has also run into legal trouble though, after his connection to a shooting in 2005 led to an assult conviction, and more recently he was sent to prison or a year after a parole violation. A day before his debut album, Trap House, is slated to hit stores, Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane is in a Georgia jail facing a murder rap. Mane (whose real name is Radric Davis) turned himself in to DeKalb County police on Thursday night after a warrant was issued for his arrest in connection with a May 10 shooting at a local residence that left a 27-year-old man dead, according to his lawyer.
