Everyone is forgetting that a child, 2 children or 3 children could very easily have crawled into that horrible contraption and lost their life.

These parents need lessons in their children's safety and yes I agree they should pay for any costs involved in chasing that stupid balloon. To fool the world for publicity sake and endanger the lives of anyone is unexcusable. The do not deserve to have those darling little boys when they do not respect their safety.

Many of my friends were on the Search and Rescue team which was deployed to find Falcon. It's not funny when you think that someone could have been hurt (on the roads or in one of the several helicopters on the search) while trying to do the right thing for this kid. His father needs jail time (and therapy).

He doesn't deserve a job at walmart. He needs to pay the community back for this hoax and I think they need their kids taken away. Their kids are disruptive and others have to reprimand them. It seems to me that they need to move back to whatever state they came from

The plan may have started as a publicity stunt but I don't think the plan included the child being in the balloon and I don't think they knew for sure that he wasn't in it when it took off. I do think he should have to pay a fine or maybe some jail time for the balloon deal but I think people should lay off they rest of the family. Robert Thomas should be charged with aiding and abetting also if this is found to be true. Taking the children out of the home is wrong, they weren't concerned about what went on in the home (if anything) before this why be now. People should clean up thier own backyards before casting judgements.

Persoanlly I think Heene should pick up the tab for the "search & rescue" operation. The evidence is mounting since his child Falcon became physically ill twice when pressed to lie for daddy on televison, the child slipped and commented that they "Did it for the show", and now a supposed partner in setting up the reality show brings forth a little more proof. Add up the time and expense of the law enforcement agencies involved, the military (because I can promise you this went all the way to NORAD), and then last but not least the cost incurred by Denver airport and the airlines invovled when they temporarily shut down Denver's airport. Did deep Richard! This bill is going to stick you right where it counts. And I am willing to bet you that some carnival or county fair would be willing to give this piece of carnie trash some gainful employment.

During the balloon chase just where were "Mom and Dad" were they on the front line, or were they at home watching this stunt on TV. To all the "real parents" in America, if that was your child in that balloon, where would you be???

Wow the term "friends" was used for Robert Thomas. Wouldn't need an enemy with a "friend" like that. I think Mr. Thomas is the bottom feeder. Richard Heene needs parenting classes. What kind of parent would teach his/her child to lie to benefit them? Mr. Heene (I use the term loosely) must be ordered to pay for the costs involved. In terms of the media, they only supply what is demanded. Isn't that what all businesses do?

I think The Heene Family should repay all monies that were put out to searching for their son. The whole thing was a HOAX!!

I am upset of the whole hoax plot because I watched the live footage and all i was thinking was the possible death of a child, especially after the dr. talked about possible suffication. my odest boy died in a car accident and I was so afraid of this family having to go through the anguish... how dare people fake such a tragic and emotional event....

The viewers and who ever was in charge of sending out the help are the true idiots.

Here is what i dont get. Sure the guy is famous now, who cares. What about the guy that was going to have to risk his life and hang from a blackhawk helicopter to look in an empty balloon that was a hoax. That guy may be a father, brother, uncle, ect. What about the planes that had to circle the airport while it was shutdown? What if one of them crashed and your family member was on it? Who cares about the money it cost or the publicity he is getting now. He put tons of lives at risk and he should get the death penalty for that!!!

Robert Thomas....idiot who helped Heene plan this event should be arrested for aiding and abetting for not coming forward during the balloom chase instead of seeking his 15 minutes of fame by coming forward after the fact....lets put Thomas on every talk show as well

Mr Heene is mentally sick all throughout, not a good actor as he thinks he is nor is he entertaining His kids should be taken away. He should not have any more control over those kids of his to be ugly disrespectful to everyone due to his self-centeredness!
He should unquestionably pay restitution and do some jail time! He has wasted too much time and money off the search and rescue people and dabbled with people's hearts and minds. His children openly have shown the disrespect that he allows towards anyone in clips on TV.
Wife Swap should have shown HIM how to be more normal and respectful, instead he has a wife that supports his chaotic and mental instablility with thinking this is so perfectly normal to be such an enabler. (she needs just has much mental help as he does too!) He took it a step further as to use what he thought it was some fame for self to continue being lazy, disrespectful and a user of all kind and caring people in this country! And my added comment was,....if we continue glorifying someone like this crazy person, Mr Heene...then NO ONE that really needs rightful recuse will be able to receive such without some fee. Why do we allow such as him to be let loose to have fun at wasting out rescue peoples' time and effort and he not be punished for such?
