October 19, 2009Robert Thomas email: Balloon Hoax, Richard Heene
This weekend a man named Robert Thomas released email conversations he had with Richard Heene, as evidence of Heene's balloon hoax. Robert Thomas released the baloon hoax emails as part of an exclusive interview with Gawker.com, talking about the time he spend working with Richard Heene on his scientific theories, and then later on his Heene's obsessive plans about landing a reality show for himself and his family. Thomas described Heene as driven by ego and a lust for fame, as well as many wild pseudo-science conspiracy theories. As Thomas helped Heene write pitches for a possible reality show, he says Heene spoke directly about setting off some kind of helium balloon for publicity, both for himself and for his UFO theories... Let's not slam Heene until all the evidence is in. Innocent until proven guilty! We need more Heene's in this world to show how screwed up the media is. :-) Posted by: Wilber Wright at October 19, 2009 6:49 PM The guy is goofy. He needs to get a job at Walmart gathering shopping carts. I think he should have to pay the bill for chasing his balloon. Posted by: Anonymous at October 19, 2009 7:25 PM What we should all realize is that Heene got Posted by: JEFF MILLER at October 19, 2009 7:51 PM He got what he wanted. Thanks to the Huuu Haaa created by the press.A No Body Becomes Somebody. Posted by: al sayee at October 19, 2009 7:59 PM Everyone is forgetting that a child, 2 children or 3 children could very easily have crawled into that horrible contraption and lost their life. These parents need lessons in their children's safety and yes I agree they should pay for any costs involved in chasing that stupid balloon. To fool the world for publicity sake and endanger the lives of anyone is unexcusable. The do not deserve to have those darling little boys when they do not respect their safety. Posted by: lyn at October 19, 2009 8:07 PM come on usa.....stop the drama and hollywood theatrics...the news medias only want to report bloodsucker news like the 'heene fiasco" to hypnotize you into this bullshit craving you all need, not want...do you ever want to hear about compasionate stories about the man who gave his seat up for a old lady on a bus, or a person who returns a wallet, with cash in it, back to the rightful owner etc...media has created this f...ked up world just to sell..sell...if the news put more stories about real...good stories...your anxieties will come down...i give the news credo when stories of giving make me cry and I realize i'm fortunate to have, little as I do, peace!...only you can change what the media puts out...the vomiting of crime on every media stations makes me sick...i'm canadian and we have the bs to, but I love you "guys"...come on, stop watching the hollywood garbage and look at yourself in the mirror and say I'm ok...it's the media that's producing the garbage that's depressing you...i'll talk to you and you don't have to pay me a cent...I'll ask you how are you feeling or doing in life...we should put more stories about us and the good things we give each other...we know there is crime etc...but take it easy media...we feel we might need a good friend...i'm sorry the media sensationalizes it for $$$...stop being there bottom feeders and lapping it up...turn the channel and demand better news and go on to a more stress free moments...I know you probably had a rough day, so tell your media to put something else on...take care! Posted by: rick at October 19, 2009 8:26 PM Many of my friends were on the Search and Rescue team which was deployed to find Falcon. It's not funny when you think that someone could have been hurt (on the roads or in one of the several helicopters on the search) while trying to do the right thing for this kid. His father needs jail time (and therapy). Posted by: Arlo at October 19, 2009 8:40 PM Let Heene start in a reality show depicting him doing community service to pay for his "stunt". What a loser . . . Posted by: Carrie at October 19, 2009 8:48 PM Let Heene star in a reality show depicting him doing community service to pay for his "stunt". What a loser . . . . Posted by: Carrie at October 19, 2009 8:50 PM I love how they made fools out of the media! Posted by: Josh at October 19, 2009 10:15 PM He doesn't deserve a job at walmart. He needs to pay the community back for this hoax and I think they need their kids taken away. Their kids are disruptive and others have to reprimand them. It seems to me that they need to move back to whatever state they came from Posted by: anonymous at October 19, 2009 10:22 PM The plan may have started as a publicity stunt but I don't think the plan included the child being in the balloon and I don't think they knew for sure that he wasn't in it when it took off. I do think he should have to pay a fine or maybe some jail time for the balloon deal but I think people should lay off they rest of the family. Robert Thomas should be charged with aiding and abetting also if this is found to be true. Taking the children out of the home is wrong, they weren't concerned about what went on in the home (if anything) before this why be now. People should clean up thier own backyards before casting judgements. Posted by: Cathy at October 19, 2009 10:32 PM hahaha !!! now there famous...leave them alone..it was entertainment after all...now for all you jealous and hypocrite people "swallow it"...ok now lets focus to the real problem... crimes, war, unemployment and forclosures..."WTF" Posted by: NEIGHBOR at October 19, 2009 10:42 PM Persoanlly I think Heene should pick up the tab for the "search & rescue" operation. The evidence is mounting since his child Falcon became physically ill twice when pressed to lie for daddy on televison, the child slipped and commented that they "Did it for the show", and now a supposed partner in setting up the reality show brings forth a little more proof. Add up the time and expense of the law enforcement agencies involved, the military (because I can promise you this went all the way to NORAD), and then last but not least the cost incurred by Denver airport and the airlines invovled when they temporarily shut down Denver's airport. Did deep Richard! This bill is going to stick you right where it counts. And I am willing to bet you that some carnival or county fair would be willing to give this piece of carnie trash some gainful employment. Peace. Posted by: Misguided at October 19, 2009 10:49 PM During the balloon chase just where were "Mom and Dad" were they on the front line, or were they at home watching this stunt on TV. To all the "real parents" in America, if that was your child in that balloon, where would you be??? Posted by: citizen in Windsor at October 19, 2009 11:15 PM Wow the term "friends" was used for Robert Thomas. Wouldn't need an enemy with a "friend" like that. I think Mr. Thomas is the bottom feeder. Richard Heene needs parenting classes. What kind of parent would teach his/her child to lie to benefit them? Mr. Heene (I use the term loosely) must be ordered to pay for the costs involved. In terms of the media, they only supply what is demanded. Isn't that what all businesses do? Posted by: Tillie at October 19, 2009 11:41 PM I think The Heene Family should repay all monies that were put out to searching for their son. The whole thing was a HOAX!! Posted by: Pixie at October 19, 2009 11:43 PM I am upset of the whole hoax plot because I watched the live footage and all i was thinking was the possible death of a child, especially after the dr. talked about possible suffication. my odest boy died in a car accident and I was so afraid of this family having to go through the anguish... how dare people fake such a tragic and emotional event.... Posted by: Elizabeth at October 20, 2009 12:02 AM The viewers and who ever was in charge of sending out the help are the true idiots. Sure the guy is famous now, who cares. What about the guy that was going to have to risk his life and hang from a blackhawk helicopter to look in an empty balloon that was a hoax. That guy may be a father, brother, uncle, ect. What about the planes that had to circle the airport while it was shutdown? What if one of them crashed and your family member was on it? Who cares about the money it cost or the publicity he is getting now. He put tons of lives at risk and he should get the death penalty for that!!! Posted by: Donny at October 20, 2009 2:43 AM its not quite entertainment when they shut down the airport, scramble helicopters to figure out a way to get this balloon down, rish the lives of these people searching. A helicopter could've crashed then what? This guys a jackass and CPS needs to intervene. When you take your kids on storm chasing rides looking for tornados that kinda throws up a red flag. You don't risk the lives of your kids for your own thrill. Dudes a headcase, he may be known everywhere now but its not for a good reason. Serial killers become well known too, I wouldn't call them famous. Lots of people are well known because of stupid things they do but yet they're far from famous. Posted by: Dave at October 20, 2009 3:06 AM Robert Thomas....idiot who helped Heene plan this event should be arrested for aiding and abetting for not coming forward during the balloom chase instead of seeking his 15 minutes of fame by coming forward after the fact....lets put Thomas on every talk show as well Posted by: Leo at October 20, 2009 7:52 AM Mr Heene is mentally sick all throughout, not a good actor as he thinks he is nor is he entertaining His kids should be taken away. He should not have any more control over those kids of his to be ugly disrespectful to everyone due to his self-centeredness! Posted by: Anonymous at October 20, 2009 1:13 PM And my added comment was,....if we continue glorifying someone like this crazy person, Mr Heene...then NO ONE that really needs rightful recuse will be able to receive such without some fee. Why do we allow such as him to be let loose to have fun at wasting out rescue peoples' time and effort and he not be punished for such?
