Oprah & Larry King Booking War: Marcus Schrenker

One might think Oprah was the uncontested Queen of television in this day and age, but if anyone was qualified to challenge her talk show supremacy it might be Larry King. And this may now be put to the test, as Oprah and King are now feuding in a booking war, allegedly, over a guest.

The guest Oprah and Larry King are competing for is a man named Marcus Schrenker, the businessman who tried to fake his own death not too long ago, by crashing his own plane into a florida swamp. Schrenker was hoping to avod legal consequences for his shady business dealings that had come to light.

Why either Oprah or Larry King want to reward this man for such behavior is beyond me, but I'm definitely curious who will win the bidding war!

There is a booking war over who will be the first national journalist or talk show host to interview Marcus Schrenker. He is the former money manager from Hamilton County who pled guilty to trying to fake his own death by crashing his plane in a Florida swamp.

You will definitely see more people like Marcus either trying to fake death or actually committing suicide because of money problems. It just the turning of times that these people who had it so good for many centuries will fall flat to society. It is what to come within the word of CHANGE. It has been done before and it will happen again

may be i should book him in jail... The Mafia are probably looking for him

Posted by: john at October 15, 2009 11:06 AM

Really don't understand why anyone cares.

Posted by: 3dollarbill at October 15, 2009 11:06 AM

Should be booked in jail - not on TV!

Posted by: Linda Z at October 15, 2009 11:16 AM

i really don't understand why him being on national TV for five minutes would be of any importance or significance to the public. This man is nothing but a low-life deceiving thief who misuse the trust of unsuspecting hard-working people to steal they hard earned money and then tried to fake his death in order to get away with it.Why not give the people he stole from the air time? signed:disgusted.

There's one piece of info that your readers will be interested in in, and that's the financial implication of the whole matter. How much ,if any, do these talk shows pay their guests and how might that fact determine who finally gets to interview this guest?

Posted by: Chiko Nwosu at October 15, 2009 11:36 AM

Oprah of course, the BEST intervewer!

Posted by: Cindy at October 15, 2009 11:41 AM

Let Glen Beck at him. He will be repenting his sins when all is said and done.

Posted by: Snoopchew at October 15, 2009 11:46 AM

i respect the both of them but i prefer to watch Oprah conducting the interview

Posted by: kurt celestine at October 15, 2009 11:54 AM

Are you kidding me, King couldnt hold her braw strap. O'reilly has more of a following than old man King.

Posted by: mark at October 15, 2009 11:59 AM

What about making him appear in front of a panel of all the people He ripped off and let them ask Him all the questions. Or, whoever
get the interview the money He will be paid- instead will be distributed among all the people he ripped off.

It's bad to book people like this.
These two programs are competing for a bum like Schrenker?
Criminal behavior must not be rewarded.
More people like Taylor Swift on these programs please!

WHO CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: g at October 15, 2009 2:20 PM

These talk show characters might perhaps best be termed ghouls - why give International publicity to the likes of Schenker, and his ilk? Such behaviour is best left without further unnecessary publicity (fees paid).

I like Larry King. He has a good voice and his comments always make sens. I was a Professor assistant at the University of Maine, Orono, Maine ( 2008-2009 ). Every night, I used to watch CNN because of Larry.
So, I feel the same way about Opray, but I don't watch her a lot. I wish both of them could win.

Enjoy the wheather every body.

Sincerely,

Does it really matter? Who cares about this bum? Neither one should interview him. There are much more important things to discuss. Oprah absolutely is no impressed with herself, that she bores me. Larry is a bit long in the tooth, maybe he should retire.

Posted by: Andrew Feller at October 15, 2009 3:12 PM

I think he should not be granted to acknowledgement of interview by either party! No Good deed goes unpunished!

Posted by: Angela at October 15, 2009 3:40 PM

Bonnie Hunt! She will shame him good old-fashioned mid-Western style! He did rip off people in Minnesota, right? Oh, for shame!

Posted by: Goddess6398 at October 15, 2009 3:56 PM

As it has soooooo eliquently been said "WHO CARES"!!!!!!!!! Don't you people have anything better to do then talk about this total waste of time topic?

Posted by: me at October 15, 2009 4:15 PM

I don't care about talk TV, but I am appalled at the poor English and poor spelling of our general population. Even the person who was a professor assistant can't use the language properly. No child left behind -- my foot! How can kids learn when they copy their parents?

If it doesn't matter to Mr. Schrenker. whoever contacted him first about being interviewed, should be the host that gets the interview. On the other hand if he has no preference, then he can choose the host that offers the best incentive for him to tell all on air. In response to those that voice their indifference to the matter, why respond to it by commenting. No one cares if you care or not about this matter.
The majority should rule.

As a former teacher of English grammar and composition, I am truly grieved at the language usage that continues to appear in public. While I respect the right to express one's opinions, the strength and impact of comments are destroyed when the grammar, spelling and composition are so utterly deplorable. Elementary children cannot write simple sentences. High school students are unable to express themselves functionally. College and university level students completely disgust me with their error-filled attempts at writing. Where does the fault lie? What can be done about it? Is this issue another symbol of the decline of the United States as we have known it? The challenge of Oprah versus Larry doesn't seem so critical to me.

Oprah has the most money. So he should go on the Big "O"'s show. Then all the money he gets should go to the people he ripped off. Then he should go to the same prison cell as Maddox. They can do the rip-off tango together. And Larry King can go to an old folks home. And everybody's happy.

Give 'em both Nobel prizes! Theres plenty now that past awardees are giving them back en masse because they no longer have value...
