October 31, 2009Eric Clapton's Surgery
Rock legend Eric Clapton is pulling out of a big concert for health reasons, but they are not of the usual rock star variety. Clapton announced to fans that he has to pull out at the last minute from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame show for emergency surgery to get gallstones removed. The procedure is expected to be safe and minor, but will sideline him from performing for a short time. He was supposed to join many other stars at Madison Square Garden for the R&R HOF super-show. Bruce Springsteen also recently pulled out, due to a death in the family (a cousin who died while on tour with him last week). Posted at October 31, 2009 4:49 PM Comments
gall stones? I wonder what they would remove from Keith Richards? A needle? A spoon? Posted by: rodger at October 31, 2009 8:17 PM Hi Eric, hope you feel better soon! There are a couple of tricks to soften and clear galllstones to prevent having surgery. But those methods are not forthcoming from orthodox, allopathic medicine. Clive Buirski, Round Rock, Texas Posted by: clive at October 31, 2009 8:56 PM I am a Clapton fanatic. The man is phenomenal. Hope you feel better soon Mr Clapton Posted by: owen at October 31, 2009 10:04 PM Eric is among a very select few in my rock and blues pantheon. From the Bluesbreakers, to Cream, to Blind Faith, to a long, distinguished solo career, and to his recent outing with Steve Winwood, He has always traveled a little farther down the road than most of his contemporaries. Thanks Eric for the wonderful live shows, and a wealth of recordings, spanning the past 43 years. Heal well. I would love to have enough money so as to go and see you whereever you are. I really love you. I need you. Please get better and if there`s anything your fans can do please say that i would do whatever i can. Nicolas Opertti, Montevideo, Uruguay.
