September 17, 2009Dick Cheney Back Surgery
Dick Cheney this week goes in for back surgery, to try and alleviate a common condition among older people known as spinal stenosis. According to the article below, "Spinal Stenosis is a narrowing of the spinal canal - the passage for the spinal cord - which in turn puts pressure on nerves, causing pain." for more details on how the surgery works see the link. I am no fan of the former Vice President, to say the least, but I'd never use this as an opportunity to take shots at him, so best of luck to Dick Cheney for a swift recovery from his surgery! I don't care for him at all - but I wish him a successful recovery. Isn't he lucky to have good health care insurance?? Posted by: Lynn at September 17, 2009 4:59 PM I wonder how many people with the same condition are being refused the same surgery because they have no insurance, insufficient coverage or pre-condition? I'm sure there are many and it is such a shame that our country cannot solve its health problems like caring adults. Posted by: Anonymous at September 17, 2009 5:22 PM I am no fan of this man. But, he is a human being and deserve not to suffer if it can be avoided. I wish everyone could have his health insurance coverage and not suffer as well when they have health issues. Posted by: Gerri London at September 17, 2009 5:34 PM comment about is so freakin true... Posted by: Anonymous at September 17, 2009 6:18 PM Dick Cheney is one of the finest men I have ever seen in politics - he is so much more intelligent than the common politician and a very respectful person. I've always been a fan!! Posted by: Phyllis at September 17, 2009 6:44 PM He should die as any War Criminal should. It appalls me there are still fans of his that show any empathy or sympathy at all for this evil bastard. His end should have happened years ago. In fact, most of the GOP can go screw themselves. And no.......I'm not a friggin dem lib either. I'm a bitter middle-aged Vietnam combat vet and this is not the country I went to MY illegal war for. Posted by: billos at September 17, 2009 6:47 PM Why must hateful people expose their true selves in this way? Just leave the man alone if you can't be civil. As usual, bitter people have made this a health care issue... as one who has dealt with cancer in my life -w/out insurance footing the bill- I must say that, while it isn't perfect, we have the best health care in the world.. don't throw out the good with the bad... just fix the items that aren't working. Posted by: kj at September 17, 2009 7:15 PM I was thinking that they could have probably gone to the White House basement and found "The Rack" to use on him so he could have avoided surgery. I'm sure a few days stretching on "The Rack" would not be considered torture, just alternative medicine. Posted by: Dean Sagen at September 17, 2009 7:36 PM All those people that wish him well, while at the same time stating they are not fans, are humanitarians; unlike Mr. Cheney. The people that were tortured and suffered as a result of the decisions and directives of Dick Cheney, along with the many millions of people that continue to suffer as a result of having no health insurance, have never been given the same rights as Mr. Cheney. Posted by: Whocares at September 17, 2009 7:42 PM I am no fan of this criminal.Cheney needs to go back home to Wyoming and go hunting with his friends and maybe someone will accidently shoot him and put him out of his misery. Posted by: Ron at September 17, 2009 8:23 PM Who cares! Posted by: Jack Chevrier at September 17, 2009 9:27 PM For all you bitter people out there, I happened not to have insurance for a short time (due to pre-exsisting)and I had to have surgery that cost me in the thousands. Guess what, I was NEVER denied the surgery, and yes I arranged to PAY for my bill with the hospital. So,I dont beleive people are denied medical care because they have no insurance. If you are willing to make payments, they will make arrangements. Just be responsible. If you are unemployed, there are programs out there to help out. If you are on disability, it is free. (even if some people are scamming the system, because of drug and alcholol use). Be informed, please. And may God Bless, Dick Cheney. Posted by: Linda Flanigan at September 17, 2009 10:30 PM Early on i had respect for dick channey but i Posted by: john sim at September 18, 2009 12:31 AM Bush Rummie & Dickie should all be locked up . It's hard to muster ANY sympathy for the devil. Posted by: Anonymous at September 18, 2009 2:25 AM I have a suggestion and I am sure it's not original, while he is undergoing back surgery why don't they implant a spine and/or a conscience in his body. But then I guess it's too late for that. Posted by: Pamela Farmer at September 19, 2009 11:46 AM Are you kidding me? As someone who suffers from this condition, I would never wish it on anyone...If you cherish your freedom and enjoy having choices in your life, you should inform yourself. Keep the hate to yourself, and may God bless your soul. Posted by: rachel at September 20, 2009 6:41 PM The only thing Dick can't control is his health, and let's hope nature serves him justice.
