Nicolas Cage Tax Bill: $6.2M!

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Yikes. The IRS is about to set the Ghost Rider on fire, if they have their way. Actor Nicholas Cage reportedly owes over 6 Million dollars in taxes, dating back to 2007 when he apparently did not have his finances straight.

Funny how everyone usually hates the IRS, but whenever they are going after a celebrity people seem to look down on the celebrity and take the IRS's word for everything. I think people should withhold judgement, who knows what the real story is. Then again $6.2 million dollars is a whole lot of tax trouble! Nicholas Cage should probably make an Adaptation to his team of lawyers and accountants, before he rols Snake Eyes and all of his National Treasure winds up Gone in 60 Seconds. Boom! I'll be here all week.

"The Detroit News reports IRS officials filed tax lien documents against Cage in Orleans District Court on 14 July (09), alleging he failed to pay $6,257,005 to cover his income tax in 2007. It's not the actor's first run in with tax bosses - according to ABC News, he agreed to pay over $660,000-plus interest in back taxes and penalties in September 2008, following allegations of improperly deducted personal expenses..."

Sounds like a witch hunt to me...the US is in trouble financially and they go after anybody they can with exaggerated amounts and penalize whatever they want . Watch your wallet. You're next.

To be totally honest, one does not have to pay personal income tax. It s not a written constitution. Show me where in the law books does it say one has to pay personal income tax. We are all getting robbed blind. All legal, we pay out of fear of getting in trouble.

To be honest, if the actor was defraud for his advisor, and if the gay had the legal powers to manage the actor assets, include tax matters, then maybe the court could define who is the responsible for the tax evasion.
remember no can be two responsibles for une obligation, the law must define who is the real responsible.
