July 29, 2009Stanford Says Jail "Too Hot"!?Allen Stanford, who is in jail for stealing BILLIONS of dollars through his fraud hustle, is now getting a lot of heat, as it were for filingin court to have himself moved to a different cell because his current prison lodgings have no air conditioning. If it is true that the cell reaches temperatures of over 100 degrees, arguably questions of humane treatment are valid, especially depending on the health of those in the cell. But at the risk of stating the obvious: jails aren't supposed to be comfortable! This deserves to be looked at by the court and taken seriously, but hopefully Stanford won't get let off the hook too easy. Posted at July 29, 2009 11:24 AM Comments
Let him stay hot! Posted by: andrea at July 29, 2009 1:46 PM Are you kidding me? This guy has it better than many elderly who can't afford air-conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter. This guy still hasn't faced the reality of his predicament. He's supposed to be punished. I don't care if he sits in 110 degree heat or freezes at 45 degrees. And NO - it should not be taken seriously. The author of that story is a wimp! What about the people whose lives he destroyed? This author has OD'd on False Compassion - (feeling sorry for the perpetrator rather than the victims). Posted by: DAN at July 29, 2009 2:34 PM Are you kidding me?
