Finally the Brett Favre rental mystery is solved! Here's the scoop:

Favre Rents Condo: Edina!

A Brett Favre signing with the Minnesota Vikings is expected to be announced in time for the start of the team's single-game ticket sales July 20.

The Vikings will play Favre's former team, the Green Bay Packers, Oct. 5 at the Metrodome on Monday night on ESPN. The Vikings are planning to require anyone buying a ticket to that game to also buy a ticket to the Aug. 21 exhibition game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Meanwhile, a little birdie heard that quarterback Brett Favre and wife Deanna last weekend made a $30,000 deposit on a condominium near 50th and France in Edina.

In Brett Favre's lease for the condo in Edina there is a clause calling him to hold a press conference once a year where he sobs uncontrollably about leaving the condo once and for all, then changes his mind and decides to stay.

I will no longer be a Vikings fan, after being one all my life.Just can't beleive that they would sign such a cry baby, the team will need more towels,so he can hide his head after he throws a bad pass. There will be plenty of those from this old washed up Q.B.He is old and he is done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess Brett hates Ted Thompson more than he loves his Packer Fans. The minute he signes with the Vikings I'll will no be a Brett Farve fan.

I am a vikes fan and dont really agree with signing farve, however farve's obligation is to his family - if i were in his shoes and could pick up another HUGE paycheck for 2009-2010 - why not?

He needs to be there maybe this will fianaly help the Vikings to the superboul . Jackson sure is not the answer. He cost them last year and they are so stupid they keep him. He is not a Q.B. They do not have leadership like when Bud Grant was there.I,don,t know where they keep coming up with the coaches they get. They call plays Peterson left Peterson right and Peterson up the middle,Then Kick.over and over.So don,t run Farr off ,He,s probly the best thing that,s happen in 10years. They should have gotten him last year. They need to get a real coach like Jimmy Johnson Vince Lombardy or Chuck Nole Or Me. Good luck this year,I,have watched them and pulled for them science 1969 Every year it,s the same old thing next year.

I'm a Packer fan.. I will feel very betrayed if he signs with the Vikes.. Why not leave with a huge and great Legacy .. With fans that have been there thru thick and thin.. I don't think it's for the money nor the love of the game anymore.. I don't believe he will be playing with his heart for the Vikes.. Because of that he will fail.. I believe it's pure revenge against TT.. I will be at the game against the Vikes at LF.. We will kick the Vikes a** .. It is no longer your house Brett.. GO PACK GO!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Anonymous at July 9, 2009 9:58 AM

Geez get off his back if I was a potential hall of fame quarterback, I would have trouble letting go too. People need to exhaust energy in other places than talkin S%&$ about Brett.

Posted by: Anonymous at July 9, 2009 10:32 AM

Packer Fan here...I think Ted is a doofus...everyone is talking about Bret being a trader...don't ya think Ted was the first trader? Bret wanted to be a Packer, Ted didn't allow that to happen...because Ted was worried about his legacy...no body else. Not Packers. Especially not Bret's. Packers should resign Bret and trade Ted to a Canadian wannabe football team. Its gonna be a couple of years before Aaron Rodgers gets the Packers to the Super Bowl...if ever.

Posted by: Gale at July 9, 2009 10:46 AM

As a Bears fan I love this signing.... nothing like guaranteed interceptions and watchign drama from the viqueens.

Posted by: Da Bears Fan at July 9, 2009 12:13 PM

The Packers are not to blame for letting Favre go, he said he was retired so we went with Aaron Rogers. The Packers had a meeting set with Favre to discuss him comeback and two days before the meeting Favre canceled the meeting saying he was gonna stay retired. So, the Packers went with Aaron Rogers. Then Favre decides he does want to come back. Too little, too late. We spent all the time and energy training Rogers. Favre is just being a big baby, if I can't play, I am gonna take my ball and go home. He was retired and The Packers had no choice to go with Rogers. If Favre plays for the Vikings, he is just playing out of spite. He is a football icon, what kind of message are you sending out when the whole reason you want to play is revenge? Think Favre had one too many hits to the head. I loved him with all my heart and he turned into a DIVA. So sad, he can kiss his legacy good bye.

For any Packer fans here's a great T Shirt that will be sold out the moment news of a signing is out: http://sconnie.com/view_item&id=137

If I told my boss at my job that I wanted to retire and three months later changed my mind, after he already hired someone to replace me, he's going to say "sorry" we've already replaced you. That's all the Pack did. They didn't turn their back on Favre, they opened the door for A-Rod to have his chance.

Posted by: Kevin at July 9, 2009 12:19 PM

listen to all of you if he is successful each one of you will be a fan watching every move. That is the beauty of America we can change our mind and do what ever we want for a job as long as some will have us. I will wait and see I hope like hell he is like the Bret Farve of old, not just a old Bret Farve.

The enemy of my enemy is my enemy. How can I be a Vikings fan and a Favre fan, I never thought I'd have to make that choice, but if Favre plays for us I'll be cheering him on, just like I cheer on all Quarterbacks who play in the purple & gold!
I remember about 11 years ago when we picked up a washed up quarterback for just 1 more year, gosh....who was that guy.....Oh ya, Randall frickn' Cunningham and we then broke the single season scoring record, I'm hoping for some deja vu, go Favre?

Posted by: Wally at July 9, 2009 2:53 PM

Whether you like Farve or not, he will probably be the 7th to 9th quarterback picked in many fantasy leagues. Okay, I haven't done my homework but he sure won't be in the bottom half. Not bad for an old timer. Gotta love it.

Posted by: Roger at July 9, 2009 2:53 PM

I am happy Brett is coming to the Vikings.
He is an exciting player and will fill the stands. I don’t think either of the current
quarterbacks can do the job of leading us to a championship. Although the supporting cast in Minnesota is great and we might be able to win with an average QB.
Anyhow, Brett is welcome here.

Once a gunslinger always a gunslinger!!! GO Brett GO & GOOD LUCK. BEEN A PACKER FAN SINCE 1967 STILL A PACKER FAN BUT I LOVE TO WATCH BRETT PLAY.

Posted by: Sackett57 at July 9, 2009 2:57 PM

Favre just wants to continue playing...
what is so wrong about that?...nobody
should care about his life decisions.....
if you don't want to see him play then
don't watch....playing for the money?
playing for revenge?..let us get serious....
the guy just loves the game....vikings
can be a contender for this year SB.....
that is the reason he wants to play......
fans shouldn't be so dramatic about jumping
off the vikes band wagon just because of
Favre coming to the team....be upset about
a guy like Vick being allowed back in the NFL.....Favre is a decent guy...he never hurt
any living thing....hate the players if you
will that deserve to be dispised for their
actions...not a guy who is undecided about
giving up playing in the NFL forever.........

Posted by: teresa at July 9, 2009 4:08 PM

If or when Brett signs with Vikings he will have completed his total downfall with Packer fans. He will have gone from just short of a god to a total idiot. I believe revenge is really the biggest reason he is entertaining a comeback with Vikings and what he doesn't seem to realize is that the revenge comes against the Packer fans and not Ted Thompson. How big of a mistake will it be if he indeeds comes back to beat the Packers and instead ends up on the losing side in both contests. Lost his revenge, lost his goodwill with Packers and will be gone in one year.

I'm a Brett Favre fan, period. Whatever team he plays on, I'm cheering for that team -- wherever I live, wherever in the country that team is. I feel lucky to have been there to witness this wonderful football player find ways to win so many games. Brett is, in my opinion, the very best player, the best leader, the most passionate, the most respected, inspiring quarterback, the most fun football player to ever play the game. Those who trash him are either jealous or bitter Packer fans. Well, you should have fired Ted Thomson, instead of letting the guy down, the guy who came to town and got you a Superbowl win, after years and years of your team's long dry spell. You repaid him by expecting him to win you more Super Bowls practically by himself; and you withdrew your support of him when YOU decided to ditch him because you thought he was getting too old. Well, karma's a trip, huh? I, for one, hope with all my might that Favre will be playing football this year, so that I can enjoy watching him play again -- Super Bowl or not; with the Vikings, wherever. God bless him and his passion for the game.

good grief....Fav-ree is an ignorant man, a drunkard and a fool...a stupid southern redneck who can't even spell (or pronounce) his own name...the last thing we need in Minnesota is a washed-up old has-been like him!!!

Posted by: webdog at July 9, 2009 7:12 PM

Im a Packer fan 4life!! But will always enjoy watching Favre do his thing!! Good luck Favre and gooooooooo PACKERS!!!

To all you Packer fans; my mom was one all her life so I respect the Pack and the NFC North. But I have loved the Vikes since I was 7 years old,so I'm ready for all the help we can get. If Brett can give us the leadership and make us click so be it! To Da Bears Fan We got your Vikqueens, bitch. We'll just see.

I'm a Packer fan, but I'm telling you, Childress and the Vikings are thinking with the wrong head and it will cost old Brad his job. It's a bad signing, more turnovers is not what the Vikings need. I love it though, because the Vikings were headed in the right direction, this will disrail them. I just got a thought, maybe Brett is coming back to do the Packer fans a favor. lol

Ted Thomson is a jerk...so what if Bret changed his mind...don't you think after all the success Bret had...all the years he put in...07'one game away from the Super Bowl...don't ya think he's earned the right to change his mind...A-Rod would of had hurt feelings for a little bit...but it would of all went away when the Packers had the Lombardi trophy again at Lambeau...Ted's a buthole

Posted by: Gale at July 10, 2009 1:19 PM

everybody talking about if he comes back he will be seen as nothing more than someone who held on to long and a trader, Right? do people say that about montana for goint to K.C. didnt think so. they might have said that at the time but now that all is said and done its not a big deal that he did that. if he wants to play and there is a team that wants him then he should play. if he does play this year i wish him good luck this season in every game, except for 2.

Posted by: vegas packer fan at July 11, 2009 6:05 PM

How many times does a person retire now? This is the second year Favre has traveled around with his suitcase looking for the right deal after he sats he's retiring, if I'm correct - I have to admitI have't paid much attentio this year. I don't have a lot of use for these guys who retire more than once or go around until the last minute shopping teams. The is a last minute decision because Favre has been around the NFL and the Vikings are paying the most. After Favre's work last year, I'd say "you're getting older Brett and can't quite pull it off. Exit gracefully.

Posted by: Debra at July 11, 2009 6:46 PM

think of it as a job. both my parents worked at there place of employment for 35 years, and then retired, after a while they got bored, and went back to work, at differant places. nobody called them hacks, traders, washed up, revenge mongers...
they just wanted to work. period. i respect you brett.

I was never a Packer fan till Brett came along, could care less what they did. Now I'm a Brett fan, I go where he goes, as long as it isn't Dallas. That would be a tough pill to swallow.
