Chris Jericho def. Rey Mysterio to become to the new Intercontinental Champion. Mysterio came to the ring fired up and started taking it to Jericho as soon as the bell rang. Within the first couple of minutes of the match Rey had Jericho on the outside of the ring and whipped him into the stairs, the wall, and hit a Hurricarana off the ring to the outside.

Jericho would get back in it, however, with a Lionsault and Walls of Jericho attempts.

Rey hit Jericho with the 619, but Jericho hit him with the Code Breaker as he was going for the follow up splash. However, Rey kicked out sending Jericho to the outside to get a chair. As Jericho was going to hit Mysterio with it, Rey countered with a drop kick, sending Jericho down.

A few spots with the chair later and Rey has Jericho set up for another 619. However, Jericho counters and rips off Mysterio's mask while he still spinning on the ropes. He immediately rolled him up in a School Boy and got the win.

Mysterio covered his face with his hands and we never really got a look at him.
