Prince on American Idol

Prince doing Lolita and Satisfied on American Idol. Somebody told me this was gonna happen last night, but I skipped out on it:

The behind the scenes scoop from contact music via Prince.org:

Pop superstar PRINCE kept tense producers of AMERICAN IDOL guessing after failing to show for his surprise performance during the talent show's finale on Wednesday (24MAY06) until the last minute. Show host RYAN SEACREST feared he'd have to fill in for the pop star when he still hadn't arrived at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood for his live performance as the big reveal started. The US TV personality even stated, "No more surprises," just in case Prince failed to show - but then the singer walked onto the stage and wowed the crowd and millions of TV viewers. Seacrest recalls, "We're in a commercial break just before the surprise of Prince and he wasn't at the Kodak Theatre, so what do we do? "He walked on the stage 30 seconds before he was to go live, sings and was in his car before I toss to the next commercial break. He was there for a total of five-and-a-half minutes."

Thanks for the link, but here's a tip:

It's kind of rude to put up so much of my post. Better manners is to just provide the link and let people go read me on my site. Also - the last section (the part that you do NOT have in a blockquote - the part starting with: "Prince. I'm a fan of his for life..." ) is actually written by me - but the way you have posted it makes it seems like it was written by you.

I apologize for the blockquote issue, that was a bit of sloppiness while rushing out of the house. this morning.

But as for the amount of material quoted, I'd have to disagree and suggest that is more a matter of personal preference than a hard and fast rule. I have both quoted many sites and been quoted on many sites over the years, and have found that opinions and expectations differ widely as to the best protocol for linking and quoting.

So I don't think it becomes an issue of "manners" or "rudeness" until one has been informed of the original poster's preferences and refuses to honor them. That said, I totally respect your wish not to be quoted extensively. and am altering my post to abide by it.
